Gilded Frame: Lobby Installation
Where every arrival deserves a standing ovation. A striking, gold-accented installation, designed by Frank Rea, will transform Fairmont Royal York’s entrance into a cinematic celebration of film throughout September, bringing a touch of glamour to every guest’s arrival.
This installation is a tribute to Toronto’s own story in film, a city that has long played host to the world’s storytellers. Fairmont Royal York has stood at the centre of that story since its earliest days, welcoming the stars, directors, and dreamers who have passed through its doors. A gilded skyline rises here as a nod to that legacy, wrapped in a spiraling reel of film and framed by a vintage camera, stars, and candlelight. A fitting first scene for where the hotel once again takes its place at the heart of the action.
